Life in the time of Corona

Hello everyone! How’s it going? This Covid-19 has brought our world to a standstill where on one hand you seem to enjoy the chirpy birds waking you up and singing a melody which you’ve not heard for ages now! At least I can vouch for myself it’s not a common sight in cities like mine. I’d say I like this part of the change. But there’s another aspect to it.. We can’t go out and be free to do what we please. The self quarantine is getting to our heads now. It’s getting difficult I know for a zillion reasons to stay indoors but let me tell you even as I write this blog, there’s only clinical trials beginning for the vaccine for this deadly virus. The asymptotic patients pose a greater threat to themselves and society at large. So whether we like it or not we have to stay INDOORS! There’s no two ways about it! Not just for ourselves but for the society as a whole.

I can’t forget all the essential workers who’ve been working day in & day out for us.. they’re making these huge sacrifices for all of us. So a BIG Thank You to all of you out there! May god bless you all and may you stay safe and have adequate PPE’s. You’re the oil that keeps us burning. You can’t get worn out..so please take care of yourselves. 🙏🏻

So friends, please keep in mind the sacrifice they’ve been making for us and let’s stay indoors.
One more positive impact it has had is that people have stopped being so self-centred and are also thinking about others. That’s the take away we should’ve once this pandemic is over. We’re not living it up like we would but that’s not the same case with our Earth.

Nature has reclaimed its space and now it’s time for us to introspect. Have we been too busy in our lives to not notice how the environment was degrading at a rapid pace and now within a span of a month it’s breathing and blooming so to say. There’s a drop in Air pollution levels in the cities.. it’s no longer a gas chamber. The skies are clearer.. we can see the starry sky at night and enjoy the company of our loved ones and pray for this dreadful disease to end.  I don’t want to sound preachy but I’d say as we’ve got some extra time on our hands let’s utilise it by learning something new or pursue your old hobby which had taken a backseat given our hectic schedule.

I’d like to keep it pretty short this time.. let us be hopeful that we come out stronger and I know we’ll. We’re all together in this Fight against Covid-19. 🙌🏼

  2. Agree with your views and hope that we would come together out of this. Some unseen forces have given us time to introspect and overcome the constraints while making us self-reliant.

  3. Yes very true the nature has reclaimed it's space when our pace came to a standstill. It is the right time to retrospect and introspect where we went wrong. Our nation went behind Globalization and modern development forgetting our rich culture and heritage a culture which was gained for the past 5000 years and the culture we had was very close to the nature. No artificial foods and flavours. The Indian farmers cultivated the best spices and grains in the world but slowly the world big corporates creeped in and spoiled our rich crops with fertilizers containing high amount of poison which also destroyed our rich soil and people's health. Our tradition of 5000 years was ignored by seeing other developed countries like USA which is having only 150 years of tradition. We started to copy the west in all aspects like genetically modified farming, infrastructure development building houses, flats, cities, malls, roads, bridges for more we copied their food habits and lifestyle ignoring our nature's gift. We killed our rivers by dumping waste and constructing huge concrete buildings, roads and bridges. The nature has decided to put an end to this destruction and to protect it for the next generation. We became selfish to the core forgetting all the gifts of the nature including our clean air which produces oxygen and now we can see people without sufficient oxygen dying day by day crying for the oxygen which we took it for granted. Our immune system which we had has dropped drastically by the influence of the west habits and now we are trying to boost our immune system which is very late. So it better that we go back to nature not copying the west culture but copying our forefathers culture so that all our five senses will be in tune with the nature and will have a healthy life which is called development. Everything that glitters is not gold. Let us come to our real senses to analyse the mistakes and let's imbibe all human qualities which we have lost. Only one prayer will safe us from this disaster that is cry loud and say I am ready to change, ready to change to be a human a human close to each other, God and nature.

  4. Hello Leena, keep writing. Agree that the pandemic has resulted in so many positives. But it has taken so many lives. In spite of that, I have a sure hope - THIS TOO SHALL PASS AWAY. WE WILL RISE AGAIN AND OVERCOME THE VIRUS.
